Being that it is the near-deepest part of the winter with still plenty of time before summer adventures, it seems reasonable that our eyes turn to books. Earlier in the week we posted a picture of a stack of Alaska/Talkeetna focused titles we had our hands on as a suggested ‘reading list’ for those planning on visiting – for work or for pleasure – or even just those that live here and wanted to dive in a bit deeper. LOVED the responses in comments with additional titles and pictures of other ‘stacks’ of Alaska books…follow the post on our social media accounts if you need a bit of inspiration.
Last Saturday’s Talkeetna Jeoparody [sic] event, hosted by the Talkeetna Historical Society, was wildly fun and enormously motivating. The Talkeetna Historical Society Museum has LOADS of great titles for sale… even found the reissued print copy of Belmore Browne’s The Conquest of Mt. McKinley, which reads like a Jack London wild ride up the mountain.
