Job Description

Position: Cashier
Work Schedule: 6:15 am - 4:15 pm 4 days a week or less
Rate of Pay: $7.00 / hour + bonus

Summary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be at work on time and prepared to work.
  • Cashier and Owner only on the register.
  • Count beginning drawer for accuracy at the start of the shift.
  • Ring in tickets, make change, ring in credit card payments.
  • Responsible for cash in register, including completing the daily Daily Shift Report and returning balanced drawer to manager on duty.
  • Accurately track employee meals, shower payments and charges.
  • Check in and check out of shower key.
  • Take counter orders.
  • Sell pastries and bread from case.
  • Answer phone, take messages and phone orders.
  • Take reservations and on occasion check in guests.
  • Stock all to-go coffee and food containers.
  • Grind and brew coffee, and maintain a clean coffee service area.
  • Opearte Espresso Machine.
  • Maintain knowlege of our menu items and ingredients, wines, beers and baked goods.
  • Maintain bakery case by keeping it clean and well stocked.
  • At the end of shift comple the Cashier Needs Form.
  • Closing Cashier is reposonsible for final cleanup of dining areas, pasty case and waitstaff station.
  • Should there ever be an issue with scheduling, co-workers or other elements that may affect your ability to fulfill the job requirements it is your duty and responsibility to approach the management so that these issues may be resolved.

Job Requirements

  • At least 21 years old with TIPS / TAMS training.
  • TIPS / TAMS card must be carried while on shift.
  • Excellent customer service skills and welcoming manner.
  • Ability to maintain compuser and quality service during busy working conditions.
  • Prior Kitchen Experience required
  • Self-motivated willingness to look for work and complete them
  • Attention to detail such as crumbs on tables and chairs, droll streaks on bakery case glass, etc.
  • Ability to twist, bend, reach and move work tables, equipment and other items up to 50 pounds.
  • Heightened awareness of personal cleanliness and neatness while on the job
  • Ability to follow and support Roadhouse policy
  • Ability to answer questions about the Talkeetna / Denali area
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule according to the requirements of the season
  • Ability to be courteous and friendly to the guests as well as co-workers
  • Ability to listen to and follow directions

Physical Work Environment and Conditions

  • Periodically busy rushes during which it is often difficult to take breaks.

Tools of the Trade

  • Cash register, credit card machine, microwave, conveyor toaster, bagel slicer, knives, soup pots, espresso machine, various cleaning agents including Citra Clean, Bleach and other serving / kitchen equipment.
  • Aprons and Tee Shirts provided.
