Job Description

Position: Lead Baker
Work Schedule: 3am - 1pm 4 days a week
Rate of Pay: $9.65 / hour

Summary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be at work on time and prepared to work.
  • Produce breads and pastries on a daily as needed basis, striving to meet yet not exceed demand.
  • Communicate with Cashier regarding availability of bakery items; relate new information regarding specialty items; educate staff in the proper storage and care of all bakery items.
  • Maintain neatness and orderliness in baker's area of freezer and walk-in as well as overall bakery.
  • At the end of your shift complete the Daily Product and Needs Form.
  • Follow the Bakery Cleaning Schedule.
  • At then end of every month fill out the Bakery Inventory Form.
  • Actively participate in the development of new recipes.
  • In the early hours of the shift the baker my be called upon to help a guest back into their room or field an emergency and to notify the management of such.
  • Should there ever be an issue with scheduling, co-workers or other elements that may affect your ability to fulfill the job requirements it is your duty and responsibility to approach the management so that these issues may be resolved.

Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • Prior Baking Experience
  • Self-motivated willingness to look for work
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to twist, bend, reach and move work table, equipment and other items up to 50 pounds.
  • Heightened awareness of personal cleanliness and neatness while on the job
  • Ability to follow and support Roadhouse policy
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule according to the requirements of the season
  • Ability to be courteous and friendly to the guests as well as co-workers
  • Ability to juggle baking / proofing schedule of various items all at one time
  • Ability to listen to and follow directions

Physical Work Environment and Conditions

  • Bakers work alone for most of the their shift before the day shift begins.

Tools of the Trade

  • Microwave, two brick ovens, two convection ovens, knives, 20 quart, 60 quart and tabletop mixers, dough scale, bread slicer, multitude of smallware items and various cleaning agents including Sitra Clean.
  • Aprons provided. Bakers must provide their own Baker's White Clothing.
